The campaign to oust establishment shoe-in Winston Churchill the wartime leader in favour of Professor Thrupiece on the new UK £5 note was triumphantly concluded today when the Royal Mint announced that the Professor's image would indeed adorn the reverse of the note. Controversially, the Queen's head will remain on the bank note's front.
Speaking on behalf of the DHRA which has led the campaign (the RSCBE is prevented by constitution from all political campaigning), Mrs Amanda J Threadbone described today's news as "a thrilling moment for us all and recognition at last for a great man".
